Effective today August 3, 2009, Debbie McClellan will move into the new role of Chief Underwriter of the IDI Underwriting Team. As Chief Underwriter, Debbie will provide consultation to the IDI underwriting staff on complex cases, conduct underwriter audits and quality reviews, and participate in industry study groups and also in the training and development of our underwriters. Debbie's move to Chief Underwriter creates a vacancy in her current role of Director of Individual Underwriting. | ||

I am pleased to announce that, effective today, Walt Henry will assume the role of Acting Director of IDI Underwriting. Walt has been with The Standard since 1993 in various roles within the Insurance Services Group Benefits and Legal departments. Walt's move to IDI Underwriting enables us to bring his valuable knowledge of claims to the front end of the IDI new business process. | ||

Effective August 10, 2009, Todd Petersen, Director and Assistant Actuary, will assume the role of Acting Director of IDI Operations. Todd is excited to broaden his knowledge of the operational side of the business as well as to lend his expertise and assistance in improving overall metrics within the IDI organization. | ||
